Invitations were sent all over the map for an exclusive two-day event held in Asheville, North Carolina this past weekend.  Cessna, Beretta, Bad Boy Buggies and Land Rover teamed up to create the first ever “Ultimate Hunting Experience” for the outdoor lovers.

Thanks to Nichols Store, a new distributor in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Southern Wildlife Company had the opportunity to participate in this event and showcase its many upscale outdoor products.  Once again, the Company’s merchandise amazed participants resulting in a very successful weekend.

Friday nights cocktail party and dinner was held at the Asheville Airport in a private hanger.  This intimate event gave vendors the opportunity to interact and educate invitees on products advertised.  On Saturday, all participants were asked to meet at The Biltmore Estate where they would have the unique privilege to test all products on display from the night before.  Bad Boy Buggy and Land Rover gave demonstration rides on the estate’s off-road course while Cessna took those interested on test flights.  Beretta also allowed clients to shoot clay pigeons with the numerous firearms loaded in their trailer.

Southern Wildlife Company would like to thank Cessna, Beretta, Bad Boy Buggies and Land Rover for making this such a pleasant event and also thank Nichols store for the invitation to participate in this show

    Oyster Shell Recycling

North Carolina has launched an innovative recycling program to collect oyster shells from individuals and businesses and place them back overboard to help turn the tide on declining oyster stocks.

How it works:  A mound of oyster shells placed in brackish water with good tidal flow will quickly become colonized by a multitude of marine organisms, including oysters. This mound, also called and oyster reef, serves a number of purposes. First and foremost, it helps produce oysters. Secondly, it provides habitat for other beneficial organisms. Oysters serve an additional important purpose, they clean water by feeding on plankton and waterborne detritus. One oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day, so the larger and healthier our oyster population, the cleaner the water!

How you can help:  Get involved as a collection volunteer, drop off your shells at a designated disposal site or encourage seafood markets and restaurants you frequent to join the recycling efforts.

We hope you will join us in the great recycling program! One individual may not be able to create a sizable reef, but by pooling our shell resources, researchers and scientists can construct large reefs in prime areas to enhance oyster productivity.

Our trailer came back much lighter from this past weekend at the Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic in Columbia, South Carolina.  People were once again impressed by all the custom products that we had on display.  From the small and large Gathering Pots to the Oyster Table that seemed to sell itself, the company could not have been more pleased with the turnout for the show.

Not only did the company receive a few more clients for years to come, Southern Wildlife Company had a brief meeting with Nicholas Store, a company from Rock Hill, South Carolina which sells every product a man or woman of the outdoors could need or want. Their "Outdoor Paradise" is very impressive and we can't wait to work with them! Please visit them online at http://nicholsstore.com.

A very exciting moment for us was getting to meet Lee and Tiffany Lakosky from The Crush TV.  Just a few days before the event Tiffany followed us on the popular networking website, Twitter! Check out The Crush TV at http://www.thecrush.tv.

Weather was certainly a factor but fortunately the rain held out until the last part of each day. Our booth was outside for this show but the tent held on through the high wind advisories and thunderstorm warnings.

Well, that is a wrap from SC for now. Thank you to all that came out to the show!
